When it comes to seeing results with your weight loss, healthy eating, or fitness goals, there are certain things that you must be doing. And, certain things that you must not be doing. Sadly, many people get into bad habits that can entirely cost them all the results they hope to be seeing.

What are these bad habits you need to drop ASAP? Let’s take a look.

Late Night Eating

Of all the habits that could derail your diet plan, late night eating may be the biggest one. There’s nothing wrong with having a planned healthy late night snack before bed. As long as it’s worked into your total calorie intake, you should not see weight gain as a result of it.

But, if you eat through a bag of potato chips and then move on to a bag of candy all while sitting in front of the TV, Houston, we have a problem.

You simply can’t do this as you’ll end up taking in too many calories that aren’t accounted for.

Put the breaks on late night eating and you’ll see better results with your weight loss goals.

Going Through The Motions

In the gym, it’s time to focus on. Don’t let yourself just go through the motions, which is what many people are doing. Each rep that you perform should have a purpose. You should never finish an exercise while your mind was somewhere else entirely.

Feel each muscle contracting. Focus on giving 100 percent effort. Listen to how your body is responding. The more present you are in the gym, the better your results will be.

Not Planning/Thinking Ahead

Not planning ahead is another big mistake that too many people are making as they go about their workout program. Failing to plan ahead means that you are leaving your diet or whether or not you do your workout sessions up to chance. Chances are never going to work in your favor.

Do your best to figure out exactly what you want to be eating ahead of time. Then put that plan into action. Likewise, schedule those workouts right into your daily agenda so there is no chance you’ll miss them.

Failing To Set Short Term Goals

Finally, the last bad habit to avoid is failing to set short-term goals. Having long-term goals is great, but very often they aren’t enough to keep you motivated and pushing forward.

Short-term goals—goals that can be accomplished in two to four weeks are what you need as well. They’ll keep you on the path to success and make sure that you are feeling accomplished as you go about your routine.

How many of these bad habits are you guilty of? Put some changes in place to ensure you aren’t committing these errors any longer.
