Here's What You Need to Do if You Want to Get a Great Butt

If Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian West are your booty goals then you’re probably really curious about how you can get a great butt? The good news is that with the right workouts your dreams can soon become a reality.

One of the most straightforward answers about how to get the booty you’ve always wanted is to exercise. You want to stimulate the three muscles; gluteus medius, gluteus minimus, and gluteus maximus, to make them grow, and the most popular way to do this is by doing squats, lots of squats! Butt workouts include lunges, hip lift progressions, and then, of course, squats (single leg squats, squats with weights, and squat steps). If this all sounds a bit daunting, don’t worry, there are many fitness bloggers on social media who are constantly posting their workouts online to inspire others and with minimal research, you can find a workout that will inspire you.

You could also join a fitness class at your gym that targets the lower half of your body, like dancing or aerobics.

Targeted cardio is important. What this means is you should be choosing exercise machines, like the elliptical, or the stair climber (or run up stairs) because these are known for targeting the glutes.

But losing body fat could also help you get a better bottom, the reason for this is because the appearance of your butt often depends on how much fat is covering your glutes, and by losing body fat you will reduce that layer. To do this you will have to reduce the amount of calories you are eating per day and start eating less carbs and more lean proteins (on a side note, whenever changing your diet it’s helpful to speak to a medical professional who can advise you on how much, and what, you should be eating daily).

Fat and weight are not always the same thing, you can lose water weight, you can lose muscle mass, and you can gain muscle, and the one thing that all of these things have in common is that the scale will reflect a change. However, what you want to be losing is fat, which is why you shouldn’t place as much importance on your actual weight as you should on your body fat. Get a scale that tells you your body fat composition.
